Abstract
HEEP COPYRIGHT: BIOL ABS. A simple and rapid method was described for the determination of Pb in blood using atomic absorption spectrometry with graphite furnace atomization. Blood sample was hemoloyzed with triton X-100 and the analyte and matrices were chemically altered with a mixture of orthophosphoric acid and ammonium dihydrogen phosphate. The matrices were removed during charring stage by using a higher charring temperature of 750? C without the loss of Pb atoms. The detection limit of the method was 0.15 mug Pb/dl. The frequency distribution of blood Pb levels in normal adults and printing press workers was also described.
