IPA COPYRIGHT: ASHP The physicochemical compatibility of diclofenac sodium and mebeverine hydrochloride with 13 tablet excipients and polymers was studied using differential scanning calorimetry. The polymers and excipients included tricalcium phosphate, povidone (PVP), methylcellulose, starch (STA-Rx-1500), cellulose microcrystalline (Avicel PH-101), stearic acid, polyethylene glycol 6000 (PEG 6000), cyclamate sodium, titanium dioxide, Eudragit RL-100, hydroxypropyl methylcellulose (HPMC), polycarbophil, and carbomer 934 (Carbopol 934). Interactions between diclofenac and povidone, stearic acid, polyethylene glycol 6000, cyclamate sodium, Eudragit RL-100, hydroxypropyl methylcellulose, and carbomer 934 were observed. Also, interactions between mebeverine and povidone and stearic acid were observed.
