IPA COPYRIGHT: ASHP The physicochemical compatibility between fluvoxamine maleate, mebeverine hydrochloride, and a number of common tablet and capsule excipients was investigated by differential scanning calorimetry. Mebeverine was incompatible with stearic acid, lactose, sodium carboxymethylcellulose, and corn starch and compatible with cellulose microcrystalline (Avicel PH-101; Elcema G-250), starch (STA-Rx-1500), cottonseed oil hydrogenated (sterotex), povidone (PVP), and magnesium stearate. Fluvoxamine was compatible with starch, PVP, Elcema, sterotex, and Avicel. It was incompatible with stearic acid, magnesium stearate, lactose, and sodium carboxymethylcellulose.
