Abstract
Sequential use of three ortho lithiation procedures has been used to construct a variety of potential host compounds in a highly regiospecific manner. An intramolecular displacement of a t-butoxycarbamate protecting group under basic conditions was utilised as a key step in the formation of six membered cyclic urethanes in the synthesis.
