Abstract
BIOSIS COPYRIGHT: BIOL ABS. Toxicity of baythion, and etrimfos was evaluated against thirteen stored product insects comprising of beetles and moths. Toxicity data on DDT, lindane, malathion along with baythion and etrimofs were compared to arrive at gain in toxicity index. The LC50 values of different insecticides have been incorporated to arrive at suitability of conventional and future prophylactic treatment. The need for tests against beetle and moth insects in test programme of prophylactic has been advocated. Etrimfos was found promising with comparatively better toxicity against beetles and moths.
