Abstract
IPA COPYRIGHT: ASHP Methodology for obtaining reproducible measurements of the relative mobility of organic compounds over pH 2-12 using high voltage paper electrophoresis is described. Use of the method for the elucidation of some structural features of simple molecules is illustrated by applying it to the characterization of metabolites of drugs excreted in the urine and bile of rats. The compounds studied included p-nitrophenol, 1-naphthol, salicylic acid, 4-nitrocatechol, probenecid, phenol red, and their metabolites.
