Abstract
Thirteen patients with warts on hands or feet that had proved resistant to various types of therapy including liquid nitrogen were treated by means of sensitization with 1-chloro-2,4-dinitrobenzene (DNCB). Following sensibilization, the warts of these patients were treated with a 2% solution of DNCB. Eleven patients were cured after repeated application. It is pointed out that this method is definitely not indicated in all patients with warts, but should be reserved to adults with highly refractory warts that seriously impair the patients's functional capacities. As the treatment exposes both the patient and the physician to risks, it should be carried out exclusively in clinics where this specialized skill is available.
