Abstract
Greenpeace has released a report stating that the total global discharge of dioxins from the production of ethylene dichloride (EDC) and vinyl chloride monomer (VCM) is 1.8 kg per year. The report, which is disputed by European polyvinyl chloride (PVC) makers, indicates that the emissions pose a dangerous threat to wildlife and the environment.
