Abstract
Diamination of alkenes provides a versatile access to vecinal diamines, an important class of functional group with application in several areas of the life sciences. Metal catalysis for the direct oxidative conversion of alkenes is a rather recent process that has been developed over the past years. Transformations of this type are presented in this chapter and include the 1,2-diamination of alkenes and butadienes under intra- and intermolecular reaction control.
