There is an increasing industrial demand for polymer blends with high mechanical properties of parts processed by fused deposition modeling process (FDM) under various process conditions. The dynamic mechanical behavior of polymer blends for final built part is of real importance in automotive and aerospace products. This study investigates the influence of the FDM process parameters on the optimization of dynamic mechanical thermal properties of part fabricated by Polycarbonate/Acrylonitrile Butadiene Styrene (PC/ABS) blend using IV-optimal response surface design. The study also highlights the development of a comprehensive mathematical model to establish functional relationship between process conditions and dynamic mechanical properties. The adequacy of the developed models has been tested through the analysis of variance (ANOVA) technique. Optimal parameter settings were obtained for achieving highest mechanical properties.
