Abstract
Ethylene glycol monovinyl ether (EGMVE), its isomer 2-methyl-1, 3-dioxolane (acetal), diethylene glycol monovinyl ether (DEGMVE) and diethylene glycol divinyl ether (DEGDVE) were investigated. The limiting index of noxiousness of investigated ethers in water bodies was organoleptic. The maximum permissible concentration in water bodies is suggested to be set for acetal at a level of 1 mg/l and that for EGMVE, DEGMVE, DEGDVE at a level of 2 mg/l.
