Previous studies show that the flocculation has high percentages of recovered Giardia sp. cysts from wastewater other techniques like filtration had been less efficient. The objective of this research was to detect and to numerated Giardia sp. cysts from wastewater. The wastewater samples were flocculated, following the Ho et al. (1995) technique. The pellet was clarified using zinc sulfate, sucrose or formaldehide-etil acetate/sucrose. The recovered cysts were identified and quantified on membrane following the Spaulding et al. (1983) technique. The Giardia sp. cysts detection and quantification was possible by formol-etil acetate/sucrose and microscopic on membrane technique with an recovered of 57% and average 1.5 x 10 super(4) y 8.2 x 10 super(4) cysts/L. Recovered others techniques not much efficient.
