Abstract
The adsorption of methane on evaporated iron films at 77 K is discussed by means of adsorption isotherms, changes in resistance and work function. The thermal desorption spectrum shows only one peak at about 130 K. There is no adsorption of methane at 273 K. The results are compared with those found for methane adsorption on nickel films.
