Abstract
Epoxy resin and phenolic resin are industrially very important polymeric materials that have vast application fields. The history of both materials started before polymer science and polymer chemistry developed. Due to the tremendous efforts of so many researchers involved in the materials, resin chemistry has been elucidated, and novel approaches for high-performance and highly functional materials are being developed. In this chapter, the basic chemistry and some novel trends in the materials are reviewed.
