LUDEP 2.07 is a user-friendly program which allows the user to calculate doses and dose rates to regions of the respiratory tract and to other body organs from intakes of radionuclides, using the International Commission on Radiological Protection (ICRP) Publication 66 model of the human respiratory tract.

Calculations can be performed for a wide range of conditions and the user can change almost all the parameters involved, although values recommended by ICRP are present as defaults. The program includes two databases of radionuclide decay data, the biokinetic models presented in ICRP Publication 30 and the retention and excretion functions presented in ICRP Publication 54.

LUDEP 2.07 contains biokinetic models and organ dosimetry which are applicable only to adults. Version 2.07 includes options for calculating bioassay quantities (urinary/faecal excretion and lung/whole body retention) and for estimating intakes from bioassay measurements. An improved method of dealing with radionuclide decay chains is also present.
