Abstract
This chapter deals with the thermal energy storage for space heating and domestic hot water in individual residential buildings. It addresses the requirements for space heating and domestic hot water, analyzes the existing solutions for thermal energy storage for space heating and for the heat storage for domestic hot water. So-called ‘hybrid systems’, which represent more complex energy systems, including the electricity grid are discussed, and are followed by conclusions and future trends.
