Abstract
The contents of this chapter are almost the heart of the EIA report in which baseline data collection for preparing EIA report is discussed. The different types of data, namely, satellite data; topomaps along with its analysis; and data types and their sources are also presented in this chapter. The four types of EIA data products, namely, thematic data, topographic data, field data, and collateral data, are also discussed. In this chapter, the description of conceptual framework of environmental setting including the monitoring stations for environmental inventory is discussed. The baseline environmental condition before project setup with respect to meteorologic data, atmospheric conditions, noise quality, water quality, geology and hydrogeological aspects, soil quality, flora and fauna studies, socioeconomic profiles of people, and land use is comprehensively discussed in this chapter.
