Heat transfer coefficients for nucleate boiling on a smooth flat copper surface were measured for pure tetrafluoromethane (FC14), methane (HC50) and their binary mixtures under a saturated pressure of 0.3 MPa at a wide range of heat fluxes and mixture concentrations. The influences of heat flux and mixture effect on boiling heat transfer coefficients were studied. Measured data were compared with some existing correlations. The data correlated by the Fujita-Tsutsui correlation show good agreement within an average deviation of 9.5%.
