Monodisperse octyl bonded Poly(styrene-divinylbenzene) (C8-PS-DVB) beads were prepared via a single-step swelling and polymerization method. Fourier transform infrared and chromatographic evaluation were used to confirm the reaction between the octene and divinylbenzene.
