Abstract

1. Conditions have been found for an effective reaction between o-palladized N,N-dimethylbenzylamine and styrene. 2. An unusually strong salt effect was observed in this reaction. 3. Two reaction products were formed simultaneously: 2-dimethylaminomethylstilbene and its palladized derivative. Conditions for the preferential formation of each product were found. © 1982 Plenum Publishing Corporation.
