Abstract
Fluorescence lifetimes and quantum yields were measured for vibrationally excited, isolated molecules. The excitation bandwidth was kept low using a scanning monochromator, in order to excite single levels. Using the fluorescence decay rates isomerisation lifetimes are calculated, according to a simple model of the isomerisation process. The potential surfaces of the molecules are discussed.
