Abstract
C-60-Perdeuterated Styrene Copolymer (C-60-DPS) was synthesized by the free radical polymerization. Thin films of C-60-DPS were prepared by the Langmuir-Boldgett (LB) technique. The surface morphology and friction performance were characterized by atomic force microscopy (AFM). Results exhibit the presence of spherical granules in the compact LB films, which result from self-polymerization of C-60 and showed friction of the LB films increased basically as C-60 content of C-60-DPS decreased.
