Abstract
A new class of reactive sulfone oligomers was recently synthesized for the first time by V. Percec and coworkers. They contain styrene chain ends rather than acetylenic termination. These thermally reactive oligomers crosslink significantly faster at lower temperatures, and result in better defined network structures. This paper presents initial results regarding the crosslinking kinetics and properties of this new class of oligomers as a function of starting molecular weight and degree of cure.
