Colloid-chemical properties and dispersity of styrene and methyl methacrylate emulsions, which were prepared in the presence of olygomeric peroxyesters, polycondensation products of polyethylene glycols with different degree of ethoxylation and di-tert-butyl peroxypyromellitic acid, were studied. Oligomeric peroxyesters soluble in the hydrocarbon phase of emulsion are shown to have surface-active properties at the styrene-water and methyl methacrylate-water interfaces, and, hence, emulsions of these monomers stabilized by peroxyesters are stable during the polymerization process.
