Abstract
It has been established that the strength of optical glass ceramic SO-115M, with the height of side-surface microroughness reduced and also after etching in hydrofluoric acid, under biaxial compression conditions increases from 20 to 45%. The limiting maximum values of ultimate strength are achieved with principal stress ratios of 0.5leskm<1, which point to the promising nature of this treatment in the care of creating cylindrical and spherical shells intended for operation under conditions of external pressure.
