It has been shown that benzoyl peroxide (BPO) is a skin tumor promoter and can also be active in the conversion of malignancy. The paper describes the quantity of benzene in hardeners containing benzoyl peroxide, the amount of benzene produced during the use of repair-sets, and benzene formed by the reaction of different phthalates and benzoyl peroxide at various temperatures.
