Using concrete sludge as main materials, three kinds of glass ceramics were successfully prepared. The characteristics of crystallization and microstructures of glass-ceramics were examined by x-ray diffraction (XRD) and scanning electronic micrography (SEM) techniques. The results indicate that in the glass of concrete sludge with fluorine and FeS adding, the crystalline phases are akermanite (Ca2MgSi2O7) as major phase and anorthite(CaAl2Si2O8)as minor phase. While in the glass with the addition of MgO and a little ZnO and MnO, only crystalline phase of akermanite is observed. The increase of ZnO and concrete sludge contents is favorable to the precipitation of wollastonite(CaSiO3) and hardystonite(CaZnSi2O7) phases. It is found that in the glass ceramics with various contents of concrete sludge, the "bulk" crystallization is always obtained by adjusting the additions and thermal treatment schedules.
