Abstract
Optical scanning electron and transmission electron microscrope investigations of what appear to be core-mantle structures in amphibole from the Cheyenne belt in southwestern Wyoming, indicate that subgrainlike structures formed as a result of cataclastic, rather than crystal plastic deformation.
