Abstract
Consumerism is a current lifestyle. Sociologists describe consumerism as an ideology. In addition, consumerism is an economic phenomenon in the society. The needs of a human are no longer the priority, but the profit is. An individual's goal is to achieve personal happiness through the accumulation of money and goods. Consumerism is the subjective and objective increase of consumption. A person without consumer goods can no longer exist. A "spiral" of rising cost of welfare is created around each person. Consumerism as a movement of consumers against marketing practices. Development and changes in consumer buying behavior lead up to the addiction to shopping or to the creation of models of buying behavior.
