Sebaceous glands are microscopic exocrine glands in the skin that secrete sebum. Sebum has a unique, species- and age-specific composition and exhibits multiple functions. The sebaceous glands can be involved in several inflammatory, nevoid, benign, and malignant processes, leading to a wide spectrum of sebaceous gland disorders.
