Abstract
A supported CuO catalyst is prepared by the deposition precipitation method, and applied to the catalytic thermal decomposition of ethyl [3-(triethoxysilyl) propyl] carbamate to prepare 3-isocyanatepropyl triethoxysilane. The as-synthesized catalysts are characterized by X-ray diffraction, X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy and transmission electron microscopy. The preparation method of the catalyst, the calcination temperature of the catalyst, and the cracking temperature of the decomposition reaction are explored. The results show that the calcination temperature is 450â and the cracking temperature is 210â in the preparation of the supported CuO catalyst via the deposition precipitation method. As ethyl [3-(triethoxysilyl) propyl] carbamate is thermally decomposed over the supported CuO catalyst in a fixed bed, the yield of 3-isocyanatepropyl triethoxysilane can reach 98.9% and the selectivity is 99.2%.The catalysts remains basically initial activity after being used for 10 cycles. © 2020, China National Chemical Information Center.
