Abstract
Chemical analysis of komatiite from Palasbani (22o22'54" N, 86o28'00" S), gave SiO2 47.06, TiO2 0.24, Al2O3 2.94, Fe2O3 4.17, FeO 11.38, MnO 0.10, MgO 21.36, CaO 10.34, Na2O 1.80, K2O 0.54, P2O5 0.11; this is compared with analyses of South African and Indian komatiites. Mineralogically, it consists of amphibole and chlorite. The absence of spinifex texture may be due to metamorphism.-V.K.N.
