Three cases of persistent hiccups are reported. There was a rapid ceasing of the symptom with pharmacologic treatment: intramuscular injection of orphenadrine citrate, 60 mg (1st and 3rd cases) and oral administration of mephenesin carbamate, 1,000 mg (2nd case). Pathogenesis and therapy are discussed.
