Abstract

A simple and highly efficient procedure has been described for the synthesis of 6-aryl-9-(4-phenoxphenyl)-1,2,4-triazolo [4,3-a] [1,8] napthyridines (4) by the oxidation of 4-phenoxybenzaldehyde 3-aryl-1,8-naphthyridin-2-ylhydrazones (3) with chloramines-T in methanol under microwave irradiation. The products were obtained in very good yields and excellent purities.
