Abstract
New complex compounds of Au(III) with thioamides of the phenylthioacetamide series and with thioamides of the dibenzofuran series are described. A correlation of elemental analysis, UV, visible, IR spectral analysis and conductivity measurements, suggests that the compounds are of [AuL2]Cl3 type (L=phenylthioacetamide, o-tolylthioacetamide, 2,5-dimethylthioacetamide) and [AuLCl2]Cl type (L=diphenyltioacetamide, 3-thioacetylamino-dibenzofuran, 3-thiobenzoylamino-dibenzofuran and 3-thiofuroylamino-dibenzofuran). The chemical bond implies the participation of both a sulphur atom and a nitrogen of the ''thione'' group in coordination to the metal. Electronic spectra show a plane-square geometry of the complexes.
