Abstract
(Figure Presented) Room for two little ones? n-Pentane and n-hexane, previously regarded as nonhydrate forming, are found to form structure-H (sH) hydrates in mixtures with 2,2-dimethylbutane. Even though they are thought to be too large to fit into the largest cage of the sH hydrate, powder X-ray diffraction and NMR measurements show that they form gas hydrates in mixtures with other sH-hydrate formers. © 2006 Wiley-VCH Verlag GmbH & Co.
