By applying the mixed-ligand method, a new Zn(II)-based coordination polymer with the chemical formula of [Zn(L)(NPTA)center dot H2O](n)(1, L = 1,6-bis(benzimidazol-1-yl)hexane,H(2)NPTA = 3-nitrophthalic acid) were prepared under solvothermal conditions by reaction of Zn(NO3)(2)center dot 6H(2)O with the carboxylic ligand H(2)NPTAwith the presence of the N-donor ligand 1,6-bis(benzimidazol-1-yl)hexane. Its protective activity on the exercise induced traumatic arthritis was evaluated and the related mechanism was explored as well. To determine the ROS accumulation in the articular soft tissue, which was the standard indicator during traumatic arthritis, the ROS detection kit was performed. In addition to this, the real time RT-PCR was further conducted to determine the levels of the ROS related genes in the articular soft tissue after indicated compound treatment. Molecular docking simulation reveals that only moderated interaction of the complex and the target protein can be observed.
