Abstract
Highly isotactic PS, uncontaminated with significant quantities of atactic PS was successfully synthesized by initiation with t-BuLi-, 3,3-dimethyl-1,1-diphenyl-1-lithiobutane (DMPBL), or polyisoprenyllithium (PILi) in hexane, at or below -30°C, in the presence of LiOH. The synthesized PS was characterized by using NMR.
