Abstract
Excess enthalpies HE for the carbon dioxide(1) + n-hexane(2) + toluene(3) system at temperatures between 308.15 and 573.15 K and pressures of 7.50 and 12.50 MPa were predicted using the Peng-Robinson equation of state. Values of the interaction parameters were determined from binary experimental data. Results were compared with ternary HE data and with predictions previously obtained at the same conditions of temperature and pressure using the Toop equation. The Peng-Robinson equation is shown to provide a good description of ternary HE values in both the one-phase and two-phase regions. © 1989.
