Abstract
This chapter explores two American SÄmoa Government (ASG) marine programs centered on territorial waters from the shore to three miles out: the Community-Based Fisheries Management Program and data collection on fishing efforts in the region. While local staff members run and maintain these initiatives on a daily basis, the U.S. federal government funds and regulates most projects.
