Abstract
In this study, the autoxidation of zeolite adsorbed cyclohexane was monitored by in situ infrared spectroscopy. Oxygenation is observed at temperatures as low as 353 K. In faujasites exchanged with different cations, the reaction rate was found to increase in the order NaY < BaY < SrY < CaY. This seems to indicate that a charge-transfer process is at the basis of this unexpected catalytic effect. 1997 Elsevier Science B.V. All rights reserved.
