Abstract
1. 1. When passing cyclohexane with steam over an alumino-rhodium catalyst at temperatures of 380-460° dehydrogenation and breakdown of cyclohexane takes place. The apparent activation energy of dehydrogenation is 23 kcal/mole. 2. 2. The rate of dehydrogenation and breakdown of cyclohexane at low degrees of conversion is independent of the partial pressure of steam. The order for cyclohexane in the reaction of dehydrogenation is +0·6 and in breakown, -0·3. 3. 3. The selectivity if dehydrogenation of cyclohexane increases on reducing temperature and the water: cyclohexane ratio. At a temperature of 420° and a molar ratio of reagents of 4 selectivity reaches 95 mol.%. 4. 4. The rate of dehydrogenation of cyclohexane in hydrogen is 2-3 times higher than the rate of dehydrogenation in steam. 1977.
