Abstract

New complex compounds of NiII with bidentate heterocyclic ligands (N, S) of dihenzofuran series (L) are presented. Analytical data, UV, visible, IR, EPR and NMR spectra, conductivity and magnetic susceptibility measurements suggest that the compounds are of [NiLCl2] type, with the square-planar geometry. A quantum-mechanical explanation for the electronic spectra of the free and coordinated ligands has been found using EHT-MO approach.
