Abstract
Comparison of D * values and spin polarization decay times (T' 1) values for a variety of aromatic triplet molecules in polyethylene film and in glassy matrices are discussed together with the variations in molecular structure and properties as well as the environment on possible relaxation mechanisms. The temperature dependence of T' 1's for anthracene and phenanthrene in polyethylene film at 77 K is described in terms of a non-uniform temperature model which allows for the operation of the spin rotation mechanism in the slow motion region. © 1961 BRILL.
