Abstract
Sodium perchlorate catalysed synthesis of Hantzsch 1,4-dihydropyridine derivatives using aldehydes, methyl acetoacetate and ammonium acetate in an aqueous media at room temperature is described. This method offers several advantages including high yields, an environmentally friendly procedure, mild reaction conditions and economic viability.
