1. The authors have investigated the reaction of aluminum chloride with solutions of ammonium perchlorate in perchloric acid in absence of oxonium perchlorate. At a molar ratio NH4:Al=1 they obtained anhydrous tetraperchloratoaluminate solvated with perchloric acid; at a ratio NH4:Al=2, (NH4)2-Al(ClO4)5 crystallizes from perchloric acid; and at NH4:Al=3, (NH4)3(ClO4)6 crystallizes. 2. By desolvation of the tetraperchloratoaluminate solvated with perchloric acid, they have obtained NH4Al(ClO4)4 in vacuum at 50-70°C. © 1978 Plenum Publishing Corporation.
