Abstract
Cu/SBA-15 was in situ synthesized by using hydrothermal method. The catalyst was characterized by XRD and FTIR. The results show that the mesoporous structure of SBA-15 is unchanged and Cu species have not been inserted into the framework of SBA-15, but formed the M-O-Si bond with silica and oxygen. Without any organic solvent, the catalyst was used in oxidation of benzyl alcohol with 30% aqueous hydrogen dioxide as the oxidant and the effects of reaction temperature, reaction time and dosage of oxidant on catalytic oxidation of benzyl alcohol to benzyl aldehyde reaction were investigated. The results show that the conversion of benzyl alcohol and the selectivity of benzyl aldehyde reach 47.6% and 84.8% respectively under the temperature of 353 K for 6 hours in solution of water. At the same time, catalytic activity does not change after using four times.
