Abstract
Direct exploration includes nodule sampling with grab, dredge and corer, and photographing by underwater camera. Indirect method contains all the geophysical techniques, such as seismic, magnetic, gravity, sidescan survey etc. The deep-sea nodules differ in physical form and chemical composition from the land-deposits. Air-lift, hydrolift and CLB systems are now considered as mining methods for deep sea. Metals can be extracted from the nodules using various combinations of pyrometallurgical operations.-from English summary
