Abstract
1,3-Biscarbazolyl propane (BCP) has been investigated as a model compound for polyvinyl carbazole, representing two neighbouring side groups of the latter. The fluorescence spectrum of BCP dissolved in cyclohexane, methanol, and benzene shows intramolecular excimer fluorescence. Compared with N-isopropyl carbazole, the quantum efficiency of monomer fluorescence of BCP is decreased. 1969.
