Abstract
A plant, namely Capparis spinosa L. was studied from chemical standardization and nutraceutical point of view (Hexane and Chloroform extract). Along with HPTLC, GCMS profiles, chemical standards such as organoleptic standards, test for purity, extractive values were measured. XRF and FPM data suggested that the plant is rich in minerals like K, Ca, Mg and P. Such standardization and validation studies will help in developing standard and quality herbal dietary supplements. Nutraceutical and energy value of the plant was evaluated.
